“Don’t plan your plan too hard and a plan appears,” says LeeAnn Shelton, who, in 2018, moved to Wyoming from North Carolina with her husband having never before been to the state. “He saw a man with a hat that said ‘Alpine, Wyoming’ and asked him about it,” she says. Intrigued, the couple packed up all of their stuff and made the move. “Once we got here, there was no leaving,” she says. “North Carolina is an amazing state for outdoor recreation, but we were always longing for even wilder spaces.”
LeeAnn is excited to join FBT’s Continental Divide Trail Crew because it combines her love of the outdoors and hiking with giving back. “I get to be outside and hike, which feeds my soul, and also get to make trails better for others.”
